One might think that a title like this points to Snow White's vain
stepmother. Her vanity and competitive mindset would suit a horror story,
but hopefully, that’s not the case. Could it instead be a poetic take on the
inherent dynamics of a duo exhibition—where, suddenly, in front of the
mirror, one becomes two?
It might just as easily reference one of the works in the show. Ossian
Theselius's piece White Mirror is an inverted black mirror, a source of
everlasting entertainment. Arno Westerberg’s reflections on the
characteristics of the everyday could also be associated with the concept
of mirroring.
We can continue reflecting on the title for as long as we please because
we don’t know its origin. It wasn’t even suggested by one of the artists;
rather, it came from a visitor on opening night.
We are delighted to invite you to our new group exhibition exploring the infinite, celebrated yet controversial art form of drag through three artists and drag performers. In the stillness of the gallery, stories about struggle and community arise as well as journeys of self, identity, transformation and family. A weaving together of three explorations, three perspectives and three artists - unveiling the person behind the persona, and the immense work, passion and dedication behind the performance.
When pondering how to make the most of our valuable time during our four years at REDAN, one idea has repeatedly surfaced—annoying in its simplicity yet endlessly joyful.
You could make a civilized argument for the cultural significance of dogs, saying that dog breeds carry imprints of human evolution. An example would be the fearless Basenjis, bred for lion hunting. As art imitates life, Basenjis also act as cover dogs for Ancient Egypt, made famous through hieroglyphs.
But we at REDAN have simply found our reason through numerous hours spent dog spotting and we finally got our priorities straight. Dogs are simply goofylicious and delightful - that's the argument and these are the artists:
Samuel Almansa
Marianne Andersson Embäck
Emanuel Bylund
Apadola Nelson
Viveka Skyttberg
Emma Ståhl
Tin Åling

Standing in the middle of scattered words, images, signs and symbols you have to use yourself to activate the scene. EASY FORM HARD claims the entire gallery space at REDAN as a stage.
When you enter a space, you have to relate to what’s inside of it - do you receive the disparate impressions?
You are all very welcome to a sparkly opening night perceived as it is. Niels Munk Plum will present a performance during the evening. You are hereby invited. We look forward to seeing you.

Your friend has one. Your partner loves them. Perhaps you hate them. Nevertheless - it’s all we’re asking for.
In this open call all breeds, materials and expressions are welcome.
We welcome you, artists who share our interest in these four-legged creatures.

In the exhibition, memories from warm walks in Rome have been materialized. However, the impressions are neither taken from the Colosseum nor the Fontana di Trevi. Instead, inconspicuous objects with unsuspected sculptural qualities have been captured. A forgotten chair, a couple of peculiar wooden logs, some sandbags lying in a heap are among the 10 that have been captured with a digital camera and then given physical form. At Amiralsgatan 9, on December 9th, it's up to you to untangle knots of memory.
